WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING OF ALL OF YOUR EXPERIENCE SINCE OUR LAST MEETING ON JUNE 6TH August Birthdays -according to bulletin editors notes no WMLC members were born in the hot month of August. I am sure your Mothers thank you. September Birthdays -pp Lion John Walker, 9/2/? Sympathy is again extended to pp Lion Sam Chickadel on the death of his Father in July, by the Board of Directors, on behalf of the entire club. Lion Rita Tucker retires from ten year term as NACT President at a luncheon, held in our club, on July 2Oth. Please read article attached to this bulletin. Lion PDG David E. Jones, of the New Castle Hundred Lions Club, received the International Humanitarian A ward. at the International Lions Club Conv- The Board of Directors took action at their August Board Meeting to increase the dinner meeting cost by $1 to $13. Lion John Ludwig, Chaiflllan of the Sight & Hearing Committee, reported at the July Board meeting that 148 pairs of glasses where sent out, one exam & pair of glasses where paid for, and that eye screening would be done on 7/30, 8/1 and 8/30. Not all Lions where on hiatus over the summer. Next Board ofDirectors Meeting is on September 26 @ 7:00. All invited. Ways&Means Committee needs a chair. Our lawyer has indicated that in order to retain our non-profit status we must still conduct fund raising activities. This is a chance for someone to step forward and be a real asset in the survival of a club that has a record of community service. Please contact Lion Bob Forbes with your interest. If there are two Lions that would like to co- chair that would work also.
